Santa Monica Concrete was founded in 2023 by a crew that had been doing concrete work on the Westside for years and saw a gap: homeowners in Santa Monica were struggling to find a licensed contractor who actually knew the city, pulled permits through the local Building and Safety Division, and understood what the coastal environment does to concrete over time.
Santa Monica is a unique place to work. The housing stock ranges from Spanish Colonial bungalows built in the 1920s to mid-century condos near Wilshire, and the salt air off the Pacific is a real factor in how surfaces hold up. A lot of the older homes in Ocean Park, Sunset Park, and Mid-City have had the same driveway or patio for decades - some of them have multiple layers of patches on top of the original pour.
